Established in 1993, The Fletcher Pilates Studio is the international headquarters for Fletcher Pilates®
Established in 1993, as Body Works Pilates, The Fletcher Pilates Studio is designed to lead you to your ultimate physical transformation. To ensure you meet your goals, we feature a full range of professional Pilates equipment in a spacious, supportive and non-competitive environment. Pilates is arguably the most effective physical conditioning method in existence. It uniquely strengthens core musculature, improves range of motion and enhances the body's innate ability to move. Our ultimate goal is to help you move better, throughout your life.
The Fletcher Pilates Studio is the international HQ for the Fletcher Pilates School, a worldwide teacher training program founded in 2003. Ron Fletcher was a first generation Pilates Master Teacher who studied extensively with Joseph and Clara Pilates, and introduced the Pilates method to the west coast. Through Clara’s mentorship, he evolved the method and went on to teach thousands of Pilates teachers and practitioners around the world. Fletcher Pilates is both contemporary and classical, and serves as a legacy based educational source for the international Pilates community.

Origins of the Pilates Method
Joseph Pilates referred to the method he first developed in the 1920’s as “Contrology,” a term which implied articulate, balanced and fluid physical control, leading to more energy and ease of movement throughout life. Now simply known as Pilates, Joe’s method is a complete physical conditioning program, incorporating strength, flexibility, coordination, balance and endurance training. The dual emphasis on movement awareness and efficient body mechanics leads to improved posture and alignment, core strength and overall body awareness. Several of our clients refer to their Pilates practice as “preventative physical therapy.”
